Setting up computer and language training labs in educational institutions across the country:-
Aims and Objectives:
• Setting up of specialized computer labs in educational institutions of all districts of the country with the aim of expanding computer education, creating employment opportunities, enhancing efficiency and language skills.
• Providing internet connectivity to selected institutions by setting up local cyber centers.
• To provide state-of-the-art facilities in the use of computers to encourage and motivate education using multimedia at SSC and HSC levels.
• Creating opportunities for IT-based language learning by setting up labs to accelerate language-based freelancing, outsourcing and other skills.
Activities:
• Setting up computer labs in 2,000 educational institutions in every district across the country.
• To create opportunities for language training by providing language training software to a total of 64 upazilas, one in each district.
• To train 1,000 teachers as trainers in 09 languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Arabic and Chinese).
• Enabling internet connectivity in every lab.
Results/Progress:
• This will increase opportunities for ICT education at SSC and HSC level and the 2000 well-equipped and high-speed Internet facilities and state-of-the-art computer and language teaching labs established will be considered as ICT infrastructure.
• In addition to imparting important training in computer graphics and animation to students at the grassroots level, 09 different essential languages will be taught.
• Foreign language learning will increase the scope of freelancing and foreign employment.
• The language trainers of existing language training institutes in the country (Dhaka University) will provide training to 1000 teachers of selected educational institutions.
• Trained teachers will train students and other teachers as master trainers.
• Students who have passed SSC and HSC in institutions with computer labs can involve themselves in income-generating activities through the use of computers.
